Are you ready to make your resolutions for the coming year? I won’t get on my high horse and argue semantics about why goals are better than resolutions. For now, I just want to get you thinking of ways that you can make the coming year your best ever. Read the following list, print it off and check the items that resonate the most with you. Once you have your checked items, prioritize them and choose a few that you want to focus on. Here’s wishing you a happy and healthy new year.
Resolutions (And Simple Ideas) To Consider:
* Hone your expertise
* Eliminate the word “try” from your vocabulary
* Take a client to lunch once a week
* Brighten someone’s day
* No matter what is thrown your way, vow to have a positive attitude
* Don’t make excuses or blame others
* Ask questions
* Be authentic
* Expect the best of yourself and others
* Meet your obligations
* Learn a new skill
* Write an article
* Read at least one book in your field every month
* Listen (really listen)
* Call one former client every day
* Ask for someone else’s perspective or opinion (even if you think you know the answer)
* Give a speech
* Be dependable
* Pay a genuine compliment to a stranger
* Don’t interrupt others when they are speaking
* Don’t judge others (or prejudge either)
* Forgive someone
* Find your passion
* Don’t settle
* Work from a clean desk
* Organize your e-mails, files, etc.
* Give referrals
* Share a great book or articles
* Block limiting beliefs
* Be bold in your convictions
* Narrow your prospecting focus
* Choose a Bull’s Eye Market
* Become involved in a professional association or networking group
* Eliminate poor-fit clients
* Do what is in the best interest of your client or prospect (even when it’s not in yours)
* Avoid loud and aggressive people
* Relax and recharge
* Take a risk that will lead you toward your dreams
* Find time to spend with family and friends
* Call someone to tell them how much you appreciate them
* Prioritize those things that will move you closer to your goals
* Do something different
* Make a positive contribution to someone less fortunate
* Seek out a mentor
* Be a mentor
* Honor your word
* Act with integrity
* Make your mother proud
* Be disciplined
* Reward yourself
* Be of service to others
* Be humble
* Be a positive role model to others
