Learn From The Sales Masters

Zig Ziglar said, “You can get whatever you want, if you help enough people get whatever they want.” As one of the nation’s leading motivational speakers on sales and success, Zig’s advice is on the money. It’s the same philosophy adopted by the largest referral organization in the world, Business Network International (BNI). In BNI, the philosophy is “Givers Gain” and this successful approach has catapulted ten of thousands of successful salespeople and small business owners.

In sales, you reap what you sew. If you help enough other people, they will, in turn, help you. It’s the basic Law of Reciprocity. You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours. Many short-sighted salespeople focus on what they can get out of a relationship instead of focusing on what they can give in a relationship. If you continue to take without giving back, the relationship will suffer.

If, however, you give to others, you will be rewarded over and over again. So before you expect others to help you, ask yourself and them, “What can I do to help you?” And then do what is in your power to make it happen. Your relationships will be strengthened and fortified.
